    Developed as a town that is new later, in Hertfordshire, /ˈhɛməl ˈhɛmpstɪd/ Hemel Hempstead is historic. Led by one John Carman, Hemel Hempstead Emigrants migrated in the early 17th century to the American colonies and founded Hempstead, New York in 1644.
